Soft Set Construction & Certifications
At ooakstreetdye, each piece begins with carefully selected base garments chosen for their construction, durability, and responsible manufacturing standards. While every garment is hand dyed in small batches in our studio, the integrity of the materials and the ethics behind their production are essential to the final result.
The following information reflects certifications, materials, and standards provided directly by our manufacturing partners.
Fabric Weight & Construction
Our fleece garments are made using heavyweight 400 GSM fabric, offering substantial structure, warmth, and longevity. This elevated fabric weight allows the garment to hold its shape over time and supports repeated dyeing processes without compromising performance or comfort.
Select styles are constructed using Supima® cotton, a premium cotton known for its longer fibers, increased softness, and enhanced durability. Supima cotton produces a smoother surface, resists pilling, and allows color to bond evenly and richly during the dyeing process.
Certifications & Responsible Standards
Our manufacturing partners adhere to internationally recognized certifications that support ethical labor practices, material safety, and environmental responsibility.
Social & Ethical Manufacturing
SA8000 – Social Accountability
Production facilities comply with SA8000 standards, which focus on fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and ethical treatment of workers throughout the supply chain.
FLO (Fairtrade Labeling Organizations)
FLO standards help protect workers’ rights and support socially responsible manufacturing practices through independently monitored compliance.
WRAP – Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production
WRAP is an independent, nonprofit certification that promotes lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing through ongoing audits and education.
Material & Textile Safety
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
Textiles certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 have been tested for harmful substances. This certification ensures that every component of the garment — including fabric, threads, and trims — meets strict human health safety standards.
GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard (where applicable)
GOTS is the leading global certification for organic textiles, covering the entire supply chain from fiber processing to manufacturing. Certification applies only to specific organic fiber products, where designated.
Material Sourcing Highlights
- Supima® Cotton: Grown exclusively in the United States and trademarked to ensure authenticity and fiber quality
- Extra-long staple cotton: Processed using gentler spinning methods to preserve fiber length and strength
- Heavyweight fleece construction: Designed for durability, comfort, and long-term wear
Transparency & Care
Our dye process builds on this foundation — working with materials designed to withstand small-batch, fiber-reactive dye techniques while supporting longevity rather than disposability. Certifications listed above reflect the manufacturing and material standards of our base garments, while dyeing and finishing are completed independently in our studio.
