LIGHT THE WAY — UPCYCLED BALLOON PANTS
Handmade in my New York studio from thrifted and repurposed textiles, these one-of-a-kind balloon pants combine striped upholstery fabric, lighthouse-print cotton duck and a contrasting denim waistband.
The striped fabric has a soft, short velvety surface and a substantial upholstery weight that gives the pants their sculptural balloon shape. Lighthouse panels add a graphic nautical contrast, while the gathered cuffs create a softly ruffled finish at the ankles.
Designed with an easy pull-on elastic waist and four functional patch pockets—two in front and two in back—these pants are comfortable, practical and completely unique.

Recommended fit: approximately unisex S–M.
• Waist: 14 inches flat, stretching to approximately 21 inches flat
• High hip: 22.5 inches flat
• Full hip: 25 inches flat
• Front rise: 13 inches
• Inseam: 30 inches
All measurements are approximate and taken with the garment laid flat. Because these are pull-on pants, the waistband must stretch comfortably over the wearer’s hips. Please compare the measurements with a similar garment that fits you well.
ABOUT THE MATERIALS
These pants were created from reclaimed textiles with different histories and fiber contents. The lighthouse panels are cotton duck, and the waistband is thrifted cotton denim. The exact fiber content of the striped upholstery fabric is unknown.
Small variations or subtle signs of the fabrics’ previous lives may be present. These characteristics are part of the garment’s upcycled story and make it truly one of a kind.
CARE
Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle using mild detergent without optical brighteners. Hang or lay flat to dry. Tumble dry on low only if necessary. Do not bleach or use high heat.
