Silk noil, also called peace silk, is made from the short fibers that are left over after combing and spinning the long silk threads from the silk worm cocoons. Traditionally a waste product from the silk manufacturing process, the short fibers are what give silk noil the knubby rustic texture. It can be compared to linen or hemp but softer and fluffier.
